Regional manager Jimmy in France
Jimmy Bassien, Regional Manager Paris Area
In the space of four years, Jimmy Bassien went from being an Assistant Store Manager to a Regional Manager in the Paris area (FR). “It started in 2014 with a phone call from a recruiter. They told me about Action and I remember saying:
“I don't know much about them, but I'd love to find out more.”
After I was accepted, I learned a lot from the staff during the opening in Savigny-le-Templen and a year later I became a Store Manager myself. Two years later I trained other Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers. I have been the Regional Manager in Île-de-France (the area surrounding Paris) since 2018. Every day is different at Action, so I never get bored!”
Despite every day being different, what does an average working day look like?
Each day, I visit several stores and spend around 90% of my working hours in the stores. Only once I understand the ins and outs, I can start helping the teams to get the most out of themselves and the Action formula. For me, it is important to help my teams develop their skills. I use a clear action plan to give them an overview and teach colleagues how to stay in control over the tasks they delegate to their teams.
Hard work... and being proud of the results
This job challenges me to wear different hats several times a day. That makes every day exciting and unpredictable. I'm extremely proud of where the group is now.
What turns a normal day into a great one?
My ultimate goal is for 'my' teams to be independent and to know in which direction they're heading. When I see that something is running smoothly, I always head home with a smile on my face. The collaboration with colleagues in the region makes my work fun. We help each other every day and learn a lot from each other's experiences.
